Situated in Australia’s national capital, UNSW Canberra has the best staff to student ratio in Australia, world class facilities and support services. As a student you will have access to the Academy Library, Indoor sports centre, bookshop, coffee shop, bank, prayer room and the Research Student recreation area with a table tennis table. Plus we have a range of support services to help you with every aspect of your study.
Support Services for Postgraduate Research students
At the ALL unit we provide students with opportunities to further develop their academic skills, master academic language and literacy strategies and clarify academic expectations in order to help you achieve your academic potential. We do this through providing:
- courses and workshops
- individual consultations
- online guides and learning resources
These resources and workshops will help you further develop your note taking and presentation skills, help you avoid accidental plagiarism and prepare your thesis outlines.
The Academy Library provides you with a wealth of print and electronic resources, collections and services to support your academic research.
Arc at UNSW Canberra
Arc Canberra is a voluntary student organisation that provides benefits and services tailored towards students at UNSW Canberra. Members of Arc enjoy a strong social network, access to clubs and societies, special interest seminars by guest lecturers, access to special grants available only to students on this campus, free legal support and advocacy services, and sports days and tours.
The aims and objectives of the Arc@Canberra are to:
- Create a vibrant student life for postgraduate students at the UNSW Canberra campus.
- Increase awareness and enhance the accessibility of Arc@UNSW member benefirts and services for UNSW Canberra students.
- Work with the Postgraduate Council (PGC) to provide information, support, representation and advice on issues that affect postgraduate students at UNSW and the wider postgraduate student population.
Research Student Unit (RSU)
RSU provides research students with quality administrative support whilst promoting the academic programs of students and enhancing their educational experience at UNSW Canberra. They can help answer any questions you might have about admission, scholarships, enrolment, research candidature, thesis submission and graduation.

Information Communication and Technology Services (ICTS)
Information, Communication and Technology Services (ICTS) is the central Information Technology provider for the whole UNSW Canberra campus.
ICTS is a member of the Student and Academic Support Group (SASG) which provides client focused support for the teaching, research, training and administration needs of UNSW Canberra.
Information and Communications and Technology Services is of critical importance to the University in the support of academic enquiry and research, teaching and learning, core business activities and communications. In recognition of this, UNSW Canberra provides computing, email, Internet and communication facilities to its staff and students for the purposes of research, teaching and learning; and to support the administration of the University.

This confidential, free of charge service with a qualified professional clinical psychologist (student counsellor), is designed to support students face challenges, navigate change, and regain balance. All enrolled UNSW Canberra postgraduate students are entitled to counselling sessions.
